Maarten de Schutter (1999) (he/they) graduated from the Filmacademie (NFA, Amsterdam) in 2024, studying Directing Documentary.
He loves leftist cinema, is half Iranian and plays as a midfielder or goalkeeper.

In 2025 his first feature documentary My Sweet Child was released, which was nominated for a Golden Calf at the Nederlands Film Festival. The film had its world premiere at Docudays in Kyiv. My Sweet Child is an attempt to reconstruct the lost memories of his mother, AIDS activist and feminist anthropologist Martine de Schutter.
